Bumps in the Road

Hey everyone!

Well, unfortunately workouts fell a bit on the wayside this week. We have been pretty busy, and had a friend come into town Thursday who stayed with us. We also slipped up quite a bit in our eating. Eating out with friends kind of trumped our resolve to be healthy.

But, we are lucky enough to be able to try again next week. Sometimes I have a hard time sticking to something if I mess up within the first bit of a project. That’s why blogging is at times a struggle. I don’t always remember that people can’t reach success without having a couple of hiccups that cause them to mess up too.

Next week I will be back in a routine so that I can really start all of this: blogging, exercise, and eating right.

Sorry this post is a bit on the boring side, but next week I am planning to include a lot more pictures in my posts and hopefully some better content!

Thanks for sticking this out with me!

June 6th and 8th Workouts

Hey everyone!

I’m planning to keep track of my daily workouts on the blog. Since I have just transferred to this new space and begun an actual workout routine, I am doing a little catch up.

Thursday, my husband and I went running. We ended up going about 2.4 miles. He was pretty far ahead of me, considering this is the first time I’ve run in years. I’m proud of myself even though it wasn’t a great run, it was quite an accomplishment for me!Image

Saturday, we attempted a weight lifting session in our apartment gym. I say attempted because we were quite limited with the equipment we had. This is what I managed to do: 3 sets of 12 reps with the lat pull down machine, 3 sets of 14 reps bench pressing just the bar, 3 sets of 12 curls with the bar, 3 sets of 12 tricep dips, 3 sets of 15 incline crunches, 10 side crunches on either side, 15 leg lifts, and 14 russian twists.

Some of my set numbers are a bit weird because we were trying to see how much we could do. I realized just how out of shape I am. After our workouts, we made a version of a protein shake. Since we didn’t have powder we used greek yogurt, milk, frozen bananas, peanut butter, and a little Nesquick. It was actually really delicious! Image

Today we ate a little bit more unhealthy and had pizza for dinner with a salad and gelato for dessert. It was the perfect cheat meal.

Leave a comment telling me what your favorite cheat meal is, or your favorite place to get workouts!

Enjoy your Sunday evening!

Hello – First post!

Hello again. I say again, because I previously blogged under this same title on blogspot. I decided to change over to wordpress because I had heard good things about this platform. I also am more content and decided on the type of things I want to post. My plan is to make this a true lifestyle blog and discuss my daily actions and activities, with posts about food, products, and anything else that comes to mind.

For those of you who have not followed me previously, here’s a bit about myself. I am a college student, who is currently a bit confused about her major. I was married on May 4th to my best friend. I recently have committed to a healthier lifestyle, with better nutrition and exercise. I want to use this blog as a way to stay accountable to my choices.

Thanks to all of you for following me along this journey!
